TOKYO – Japan Airlines has announced a 20% increase in profit for the first nine months of its current financial year, citing a fall in fuel prices but also pointing to the yen remaining weaker against the US dollar. JAL also highlighted a 47% increase in the number of foreign visitors to Japan in the first nine months of 2015.
BEIJING - China Southern Airlines Co Ltd has released a statement on Wednesday predicting that its net profit rose between 110% and 130% during 2015. If the estimates are accurate, it potentially means that Asia’s largest carrier by fleet number had a possible net profit of more than RMB3.72 billion (considering the company’s 2014 net profit of RMB1.773 billion, or USS269.49 million), according to a report in China Daily.
