Embracing the living history of Tsimshatsui

March 18, 2016

HONG KONG – The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel is presenting carefully-selected examples of Tsimshatsui’s cultural heritage and its community people who have lived in the district for between 40 and 70 years as part of a Cultural Heritage package available through to June 30, 2017.

Kowloon Shangri-La was the first hotel to open in reclaimed Tsimshatsui East, and its Cultural Heritage package includes a bound commemorative publication, video clips and a three-to-four-hour walking tour through Tsimshatsui’s living cultural history as East meets West.

Sights of past and present include Hong Kong’s oldest military facility, the first Catholic church on Kowloon Peninsula, the primary school attended by kung fu master Bruce Lee, and buildings that have received UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage awards.

Priced from US$488 plus tax per night (minimum two nights), the Cultural Heritage package incudes accommodation for two, full Horizon Club benefits, a guided walking tour, a special edition of The Hidden Gems, free wi-fi, broadband and local phne calls, and welcome tea and fruit platter. www.shangri-la.com/kowloon email reservations.ksl@shangri-la.com
