YANGON - Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels and Yoma Strategic Holdings have concluded an agreement to restore the former Myanmar Railway Company headquarters into The Peninsula Yangon, redeveloping and restoring the heritage building, which dates from the 1880s and is one of the oldest existing colonial buildings in Yangon.
TOKYO - Japan Airlines and S7 Airlines, both members of the oneworld alliance, have agreed to further expand their codeshare flights, adding 12 domestic destinations in Russia from March 19. KYOTO – Ritz-Carlton and property developer Sekisui House have opened the Ritz-Carlton in Kyoto, branding it the city’s first truly international luxury hotel and Japan’s first urban resort. It is the fourth Ritz-Carlton in Japan.
SINGAPORE - The Singapore Airlines Group has reported an operating profit of $151 million in the third quarter of its 2013-14 financial year, $20 million higher (+15.3%) than a year ago. SIA said higher passenger numbers were offset by weaker yields (down 2.7%) in a competitive environment which included unfavourable exchange rate movements.
