Qantas, Cathay, BA open new LA Business Lounge

LOS ANGELES – Qantas, Cathay Pacific and British Airways as joint owners and oneworld partners have unveiled their new Business Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport. The Lounge is managed by Qantas

The lounge offers menus influenced by multicultural California, a new dining area, a cocktail bar serving signature cocktails and premium wines, and a barista service, along with an enhanced buffet, faster WiFi, new workstations and nine shower suites.

Cebu Pacific Air to launch flights to Australia in September

MANILA – Cebu Pacific Air is to introduce direct flights from Manila to Sydney from September 9, utilising its new Airbus 330-300 aircraft. There will be four return services weekly. Alex Reyes, General Manager, Long-Haul Division of Cebu Pacific Air, says the number of Australian leisure travellers to the Philippines has more than doubled in the past nine years, with 25% growth in the past two years.

Garuda reinstates direct Jakarta-Haneda (Tokyo) service

JAKARTA – Garuda Indonesia has reinstated its Jakarta-Haneda (Tokyo) direct service to meet market demand and to broaden its flight network. Garuda has a codeshare arrangement with All Nippon Airways for onward flights.

Garuda will now offer 39 weekly flights to Japan, including Jakarta-Osaka (Kansai), Denpasar-Osaka (Kansai), Jakarta-Narita (Tokyo), Denpasar-Tokyo (Narita), Denpasar-Tokyo (Haneda) and Jakarta-Tokyo (Haneda). www.garuda-indonesia.com /au (ATI).

Ritz-Carlton luxury resort for Langkawi to open in 2015
