Taiwan imposes border inspections for suspect cooking oil

~~TAIPEI - Foreign manufacturers and exporters of suspect olive and grape seed oils will be required to present documentation for the products or face seizures and inspections at port, health officials said Thursday. The regulations will affect companies dealing in imported oils which have been found to contain copper cholorophyllin.

The banned colouring agent was found in 12 imported oil products, according to results released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Several of the eight olive oil products named came from Italy, while the remaining four products were grape seed oil from Spain, according to Feng Jun-lan, northern region office chief at the FDA.
