SilkAir to add Cairns to Singapore-Darwin services

November 5, 2014

SINGAPORE - SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, is to launch direct flights between Singapore and Cairns from May next year, subject to regulatory approvals. The services will be operated with SilkAir’s latest Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with both Business and Economy class cabins.

Fares will include inflight meals, baggage allowance of 40kg and 30kg for Business and Economy class respectively, and through check-in for connecting customers to or from SilkAir or Singapore Airlines via Singapore.

Cairns will be the airline’s second Australian destination after Darwin, which launched in March 2012. SilkAir plans to operate the Cairns service three times weekly, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, on a triangular routing via Darwin. www.silkair.com (ATI).
