Huawei gets green light to develop high-precision maps

SHANGHAI - Huawei is being licensed to develop high-precision maps, fuelling speculation that the telecom equipment giant is gearing to tap into the autonomous driving business, Caixin reports.

Information published by the Ministry of Natural Resources showed that Beijing Huawei Digital Technologies, a unit of Huawei, won approval to enter the high-precision map business, Caixin said.
