September 3, 2014

BEIJING - China’s non-manufacturing activity slightly rebounded in August, with the sector’s PMI landing at 54.4. The figure is compiled by the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, which tracks activity in sectors such as construction, software, aviation, railway transport and real estate.

Although recent months’ readings have remained about the 50-mark, this number is the first upward movement of the non-manufacturing PMI since June. In July, the non-manufacturing PMI was 54.2. www.webershandwick.cn (ATI).
