Virgin Australia, Hainan Airlines sign code-share deal
SYDNEY - Virgin Australia and Hainan Airlines have announced a new codeshare agreement to provide travellers from China with access to an expanded network of Virgin Australia domestic connections within Australia and across trans-Tasman, including Cairns, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.
Travellers to China will have access to a schedule of weekly Hainan-operated services from Sydney operating to Xi’an, Changsha and Haikou; services from Melbourne operating to Xi’an and Changsha; and services from Brisbane and Cairns operating to Shenzhen.
Velocity Frequent Flyer members will earn Velocity Points and Status Credits and Fortune Wings Club members Points and Status Qualifying Points when flying with either airline under the codeshare.
Flights under the codeshare partnership will go on sale on June 21 2018 for travel from July 2 onwards, subject to regulatory approval.
