Thailand’s economy regaining momentum

February 22, 2019

BANGKOK - Thailand's growth picked up in Q4, with most indicators showing improvement. It was notable, however, that Q3 growth figures were revised downwards.

Looking ahead, ANZ Bank sees slowing global growth as a headwind for the export sector, but says domestic demand should remain robust. The Government's infrastructure programme, in particular, should provide an important support to growth.

"Overall, we expect growth in 2019 to ease slightly from the 2018 outturn of 4.1%," the bank says in a research note.  www.live.anz.com (ATI).
