Taiwan offers US$3.3 billion in new project to private sector

TAIPEI – Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications has unveiled 40 public projects spanning transportation, tourism and urban renewal with a totalUS$3.3 billion which will be open to private sector investment.

The most expensive of the projects on offer is the 6.01-hectare urban renewal of Kaohsiung Station, at an estimated cost of NT$19.8 billion Next is a development package involving 111 hectares of land adjacent to the ports of Hualien, Kaohsiung, Suao, Taipei and Taichung at a cost of NT$8.4 billion, followed by a development close to Zuoying Station of the Taiwan High Speed Rail at NT$1.9 billion.  www.taiwantoday.tw (ATI).
