Taiwan launches website to attract foreign professionals for SMEs

July 4, 2016

TAIPEI – Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has launched a new website, Contact Taiwan, as the newest component of Government efforts to attract highly-skilled foreign talent to Taiwan. The new website has both Chinese and English access to opportunities with firms in Taiwan, plus information relating to visa applications, taxation and living environment.

“If Taiwan’s economy is to move forward, we need high-end talent from abroad to help our industries in technical upgrades and business model reforms,” MOEA Minister Lee Chih-kung said.
Kung Ming-hsin, Deputy Minister of Taiwan’s National Development Council, said that while large enterprises could hire head-hunting firms, SMEs could not afford such services. SMEs account for 97.7% of all companies in Taiwan. www.taiwantoday.tw (ATI).
