The cargo rail service is designed to move goods faster and at a significantly lower cost to up-country markets, benefitting industries such as agriculture, textiles, fertilisers, sports goods, electronics and FMCG producers.

PICT is the only terminal at the Port of Karachi with an internal rail connection.

Khurram Khan, PICT chief executive officer, said: "We foresee increased large volumes in Pakistan's foreign trade, and we are increasing our capability to provide end-to-end logistics solutions." www.ictsi.com (ATI).
