Deakin University, Infosys win top Australia-India Business Awards

SYDNEY - Deakin University and Infosys have won the top two Trade and Investment Awards – for outstanding contributions to India and to Australia - presented by the Australia-India Business Council.

Deakin was the first international university to open an office in India, in 1996. It has since invested $10 million, produced thousands of job-ready graduates, and established a number of partnerships between academia and industry.

Infosys first established an Australian presence in 1999, and draw 40 per cent of its 3,100-strong workforce from the local community.

Other awards went to Cochlear, Tata Global Beverages, SMEC, SP Jain School of Global Management, Linfox, Mahindra Aerospace and the George Institute for Global Health. www.aibc.org.au
