Chinese economy to remain stable and positive: senior official

BEIJING - Despite new challenges and changes in the external environment, the Chinese economy is on a solid footing to maintain a stable and positive outlook, said Ning Jizhe, Dputy Head of China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Head of the National Bureau of Statistics.

China’s State newsagency, Xinhua, reported that Ning was responding to concerns about downward pressure on the Chinese economy. He said the focus should be on the overall trend instead of specific indicators, and that current fluctuations in the economic index were within a reasonable range.  www.webershandwick.cn (ATI).
