Bank Indonesia keeps rates on hold, watching US Fed moves

March 17, 2015

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia has kept rates on hold in March, in line with market expectations, but ANZ Bank believes the forward-looking macroeconomic landscape provides scope for additional rate cuts this year.

However, ANZ says BI will likely hold off until there is further clarity on the Fed rate path.
“Our year-end target for the policy rate remains 7.00%. However, we pare back our expectations that BI will move again before the Fed as it would probably invite unnecessary financial volatility.” www.live.anz.com (ATI).
