Xiamen Airlines launches first flight service to US, via Shenzhen, Seattle

XIAMEN - Xiamen Airlines has launched a Xiamen - Shenzhen - Seattle service, creating an air bridge connecting two of China's major special economic zones and an economic heavyweight on the US West Coast. It is both the first long haul route originating in Xiamen with an end point in the United States and the first direct international service between Shenzhen and the US.

The service will be operated by a Xiamen Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with three flights weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Xiamen Airlines Chairman and General Manager, Che Shanglun, said new services from Fuzhou to New York and from Xiamen  to Los Angeles are also planned.
To complete the build out of a network beyond Seattle, Xiamen Airlines has signed a partnership agreement with Alaska Airlines that enables passengers to fly onward to 61 major and secondary destinations across the US, Canada and Mexico on Alaska Airlines flights out of Seattle .
Xiamen Airlines has existing long-haul services to Amsterdam, Sydney, Melbourne and Vancouver. www.xiamenair.com
