USG Boral to build new manufacturing plant in India

NEW DELHI - USG Boral, a global leader in building products technology, has announced plans to build a new plasterboard plant in South India . The new plant will be operated by its India business unit, USG Boral Building Products India Pte Ltd. USG Boral is 50% ownedy Boral Ltd of Australia.

The plant will support USG Boral's commitment in the region, allowing for 30 million m 2 of plasterboard capacity in a standalone facility. USG Boral currently operates two other facilities in India, a 9 million m 2 plasterboard and metal plant in Khushkhera, near New Delhi, and a joint compound & putty plant in the Chennai area. 
Plans are to break ground in the September quarter  for the new plant, which is expected to be fully operational in 24 months.
Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, USG Boral Building Products was founded in 2014 as a joint venture between USG Corporation and Boral Limited. It has 23 manufacturing plants and three gypsum mines across Australia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Oman and Saudi Arabia . www.usgboral.com (ATI).
