Runway works delay new Singapore-Jakarta-Sydney route

November 10, 2016

SYDNEY - Singapore Airlines is delaying plans to launch a new route linking Singapore, Jakarta and Sydney. SIA is contacting passengers booked on this route and help put them on other flights.

SIA had planned to launch three flights weekly on the Singapore-Jakarta-Sydney route on November 23. The Indonesian civil aviation authorities had issued SIA written approval, and SIA had secured the necessary airport slots.

SIA has now been informed by Indonesian civil aviation authorities that they are unable to approve the flights due to runway maintenance works at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. These works also affect other airlines.  www.singaporeair.com (ATI).
