Food safety worries 80% of Taiwanese consumers

TAIPEI - Eighty per cent of all Taiwanese are concerned about food safety problems, fearing that food products might contain harmful ingredients – 79% expressed worry that the contents of products are different to what is listed on labels, and 78% worry that food products they purchase might have gone bad.

A survey by market research company TNS  for life insurance group AIA covered 10,245 respondents in 15 markets in the Asia-Pacific region. There have been a number of food scandals in recent years in Taiwan and other Asia-Pacific countries, including China and Hong Kong (ATI).
