120th Canton Fair draws nearly US$28 billion in trade sales

GUANGZHOU – China’s 120th Canton Fair has closed with the total exports deals of 187.301 billion yuan ( USD27.89 billion ), a 3.2% year-on-year increase. Nearly 186,000 buyers from 213 countries and regions participated at the fair, 4.6% more than in 2015.

This year's Fair saw more international buyers mostly for electronics and household electrical appliances, consumer goods, home decorations, gifts and machinery. The number of buyers from Asia, Europe , the Americas and Oceania showed 4.22%, 6.53%, 10.91% and 0.11% on-year growth respectively.
Mechanical and electrical products led in trade volume at US$15.10 billion , a 1.8% increase, making up 54.1% of total turnover. This sector was followed by light industrial products, achieving US$7.2 billion and textile and clothing with US$1.63 billion .
Trade volume was led by the European Union (US$7.1 billion), BRIC  Brazil, Russia, India, China) (US$3.8 billion) and the US (US$3.71 billion) with year-on-year increases of 5.6%, 11.5% and 14.7% respectively.   www.prnasia.com (ATI).
