GENEVA - announced Global passenger traffic results for June released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) show that demand (measured in total revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose by 7.8% compared to June 2017. This was up from 6.0% year-over-year growth recorded in both May and April.

TOKYO – Since Japan Airlines and TripAdvisor jointly launched a multi-media portal titled "Untold Stories of Japan" last October, interest in Japan from Asia-Pacific travellers has increased 40% on-year, led by consumers from Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, India and Vietnam.
TOKYO - Japan Airlines (JAL) and China Eastern Airlines have signed an MoU to pursue a joint business agreement, effective this financial year (ending March 2019).
The two airlines have been offering codeshare flight operations between Japan and China since 2002.
SINGAPORE - SIA will launch non-stop flights between Singapore and Los Angeles using the new Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra-long-range) aircraft in November. In addition, SIA will step up existing daily non-stop Singapore-San Francisco services to 10 weekly. Together with the earlier announced non-stop Singapore-New York services, SIA will link Singapore and the US with 27 weekly non-stop flights by the end of 2018.
SINGAPORE - SIA will add a fourth daily service to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in December to meet growing travel demand between Singapore and Japan. The additional flight will increase SIA’s daily services to the Japanese capital, including two daily flights to Narita Airport, to six.
